Modelo de planejamento da operação de sistemas hidrotérmicos de produção de energia elétrica.

This paper presents an optimization model for planning the operation of large hydrothermal electrical systems. The model is called SolverSIN. It was evaluated in planning the operation of the Brazilian National Integrated System (SIN), one of the most complex hydrothermal systems in the world. A historical analysis of SIN data operation was performed in order to estimate loss functions. This was necessary due to the proposed methodology. SolverSIN was written in two computational languages: spreadsheet and GAMS. The main contribution of SolverSIN is the decision support given for planning operation dispatches considering its characteristics related to efficiency, transparency and precision. Efficiency is associated with the proposed methodology based on energy balance among electrical energy sources and hydropower balance equations applied to equivalent reservoirs of potential energy. The optimization is done using a non-linear program set including the SNOPT, CONOPT and MINOS routines. The transparency of SolverSIN is also a very important characteristic, and it allows the stakeholder to follow the variation of any model variable step by step (in simulation or optimization runs). Precision is an essential property and provides evidence with the applications presented. The results show that the SolverSIN model is appropriate to plan any any hydrothermal systems operation.
