Scintillation in cerium-activated gadolinium-based crystals

Scintillation in cerium-doped gadolinium-based crystals results from the energy transfer of excited host matrix Gd3+ ions (6I7/2,11/2; 6P7/2,5/2) to the Ce3+ ions {5d1(2T2)} which radiatively relax to the ground state. [Russian Text Ignore]
