This study described the meanings and processes about a joint lesson planning and implementation within an elementary school"s professional learning community of an environment class. After discussing professionality of teaching environment, a professional learning community, and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for understanding this case, the processes of a joint lesson planning and implementation were described in its order of the timeline. 6th grade teachers in this case restructured the contents of Social Studies and Science curriculum integrating its topics into environment. They jointly planned, implemented and reflected a class, dealing with three topics from the process of restructured curricular contents. They were also resolving a variety of dilemmas and choices for designing an environment class by sharing them with their cohorts. At the same time, the practice of teaching were changed by implementing the jointly planned lesson within each classroom, watching each videotaped class together, and having reflective dialogues with their cohorts. These 6th grade teachers were able to gain knowledge for teaching by contemplating over appropriate teaching methods to topics of environmental issues and their students.
