The child with a spinal cord injury

In the tradition of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon's "Symposium Series", this text offers a current overview of the clinical issues surrounding paediatric spinal cord injuries and the standards for optimal care. It also identifies areas of deficient knowledge where additional research is needed. Specifically, the text covers: etiology and prevention; management of spine injuries; medical issues in spine injuries; upper extremity management and functional assistance; rehabilitation; discharge and transition, including family education; research and technological applications; other special considerations.
