Automatic Control and Monitoring of Diesel Generator Set

A new automation system based on professional controller,programmable logic controller(PLC) and communication technologies is developed.Because only using professional controller to control the diesel generator set causes many problems such as less of functions and flexibility.The structure,functions and control strategy of this system are discussed.Through synchronous control by professional controller,logic control by PLC and communication between them and remote computers to achieve the optimization of automatic control and monitoring of diesel generator set.The proposed system is successfully applied to the back-up power department of an insurance company's national support center.Diesel generator sets run fast,safe,stable by using the system.The applying prospect will be very well.
