Estimation of current distribution by a hybrid of genetic algorithm and sampled pattern matching method

This paper presents a new technique to estimate internal current distribution in an object from the external magnetic field observed near the boundary surface. The formulation of this method is based on the sampled pattern matching method and the genetic algorithm. The results obtained by using the sampled pattern matching method are used as initial input data of the estimation with the genetic algorithm. The hybrid method is applied to some simple examples, and the results are compared with them of the conventional method. In these investigations, validity and usefulness of this method are discussed. >
