Floating ice measurement based on image processing of multi-color CCD

A floating ice movement measuring system based on synchronous photograph with multi-color CCD device was introduced.The measures the movement of floating ice system was set with the technology of image processing and PTV.The simulation motion of the floating ice is photographed continuously using the multi-color CCD device to trace the ice in the large range.The shape parameters of the floating ice is obtained by the image processing method of edge detection and contour tracking.With the image frame,the velocity of ice can be calculated using PTV algorithm.The experiment results show that the developed system which can calculate the physical parameters and trajectory precisely can be applicable for the floating ice motion measurement in the physical experiments.
