La Gestión del Conocimiento y la Industria de la Construcción

Cada dia las empresas constructoras generan nuevo conocimiento acerca de sus productos, sus clientes y sus procesos, pero en general este conocimiento se pierde ya que no existen los mecanismos adecuados para capturarlo, almacenarlo y compartirlo. Frente a esta realidad, la gestion del conocimiento aparece como un enfoque que le entrega a estas organizaciones un proceso ordenado y sistematico para administrar su conocimiento y experiencia. Para la industria de la construccion, altamente intensiva en conocimiento, esta puede ser una herramienta muy efectiva para aumentar la productividad y el desempeno en sus proyectos. Asi, el adecuado manejo de este recurso se vuelve vital, especialmente en el entorno economico actual marcado por una alta competitividad. Pero, a pesar de que esta disciplina lleva varios anos siendo aplicada en diversas partes del mundo, aun no ha sido ampliamente difundida en Chile. Para ayudar a difundir los principales conceptos de este enfoque y sus implicancias para la industria de la construccion, este articulo presenta un resumen del estado del arte, el cual incluye una revision de los aspectos teoricos de la disciplina y su relacion e impacto con la industria de la construccion.
