A NOVEL APPROACH FOR THE TREATMENT OF GINGIVAL REC ESS ION US ING BUCCAL FAT PAD

Gingival recession is the exposure of root surface due to apical migration of the gingival tissue marg in. It seldom results in tooth loss; marginal t issue recession is associated with thermal and tactile sensitivity, esthe tic complaints and a tendency towards root caries. The aim o f this case report is to establish a Novel approach for the root coverage of severe gingival recession defects (Miller Class III) by providing a richest source of enough tissue with good blood supply using the pedicled buccal fat pad (PBFP).
