3-D trust modeling in distributed and dynamic environments

The evolution of ubiquitous computing, Internet of Things and social networks has increased the need for secure and reliable data communication among users. The existence of this communication relies on the level of Trust among users and entities. Trust is a complex issue as it lies in the complexity of human behavior. Thus, dynamic trust management is important as it enables the assessment of the trustworthiness of communicating peers. In this paper we present extensions of our previous work, which covered the theory behind a novel 3-D trust model. More specifically, we discuss the design and implementation of the aforementioned 3-D model and link it to a simulation environment for proof or concept verification. Further, we describe the adaptation of this trust model to capture different behaviors in a distributed and dynamic environment. An example application is also provided.
