Changing Healthcare Networks - Orchestrating Needed but Impossible?

This paper discusses the coordination of change in healthcare networks. Drawing from research on the marketization of the Finnish healthcare syst em, we present that a) there is a clear need for orchestration and b) orchestration seems very chall enging due to the institutional environment, rivers of activity and cognitive limitations. An ex tension of the discussion to the manageability of nets and networks research is given.
