Measurement feedback control for networked control systems with packet dropout and input delay

In this paper, we study the control problem for discrete-time networked control systems (NCSs) involving packet dropout and input delay. The main contributions are two-fold. Firstly, we obtain the optimal controller for the finite horizon LQR problem in terms of the solution of a standard difference Riccati equation and the optimal estimator which can be calculated separately. Secondly, we derive the necessary and sufficient condition for the mean-square stabilization of the NCSs with packet dropout and input delay. It is noted that the equivalent condition depends merely on the packet dropout probability and the eigenvalues of the system matrix, which is irrelevant to the input delay.
