Agent-based middleware for advanced ubiquitous communication services based on symbiotic computing

This paper proposes an agent-based middleware, called AMUSE framework for construction and provision of advanced ubiquitous communication services, based on symbiotic computing. This framework can take QoS (quality of service), privacy, and situation of the users into consideration in unstable ubiquitous computing environment, by effective handling of user context, resource situation and social relationship among users. We describe the concept, design and implementation of AMUSE. Additionally, we show an initial application of ambient multimedia communication service based on AMUSE to confirm the feasibility and potential of our proposed middleware.
