In this paper,a new swarm intelligence algorithm called deferential swarm (DS) is proposed,and identification of hydrodynamic forces acting on an axis-symmetric body exiting water obliquely is investigated using DS. the model of normal added mass coefficient and of the velocity-related normal force coefficient is successfully obtained. Using this model for other test case shows that the results calculated from the identified parameters agree quite well with the original test results. It is also shown that the identification method is effective and the model of normal unsteady hydrodynamic forces during water exit is reliable.
