Prioritizing transformers for condition based asset replacement

Applying transformer health and risk scores allows us to provide a basic asset ranking. Transformer health scores are not, by themselves, an indicator of a transformer problem but they do provide a relatively simple means for scoring large populations of transformers. However the results are not absolute and there is still a need for engineering judgment. Including an indication of consequence allows a risk ranking that is useful to prioritize ‘action plans’ for significant risks. Clearly we will be looking to develop this model further to improve its usefulness and correlation to ‘real life’.
