Benchmarking Dependability of a System Biology Application

In this paper we report our practical experience inbenchmarking a System Biology Web Service, and investigateinstability of its performance and the delays induced by thecommunication medium. We discuss the results of a statisticaldata analysis and discuss the causes affecting the Web Serviceperformance. The uncertainty discovered in Web Servicesoperations reduces the overall dependability of Service-Oriented Architecture and require specific resiliencetechniques.
