THE THERMAL DECOMPOSITION OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE VAPOR

Abstract : So far the rate constant of the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide is known only at temperatures up to approximately 900K. Air for the hypersonic ramjet will probably be shocked and diffused to temperatures of approximately 1500K. It is therefore desirable to have decomposition data at higher temperatures so that a realistic evaluation of the overall combustion process can be made. The study of the mechanism and the reaction rates of the hydrogen peroxide decomposition for temperatures in the range of 1000-1400K were investigated and are reported.
