Effects of sowing date and oospore seed contamination upon subsequent crop incidence of white rust (Albugo candida) in rapeseed

The only other record in Australia for P. capsellae on rapeseed is from Guyra (Northern Tablelands), New South Wales, in February 1956 (Dar 4908, personal communication, J. Walker, who informs us that it is not commonly seen now). The identification of both P. capsellae (IMI 252791) and M. verrucaria (IMI 246189) have been confirmed and material deposited at DAR. Rydalmere, N.S.W. (DAR 37070 and 37071 respectively).
