Oscillometric blood pressure waveform analysis: challenges and developments

One of the most important public health problem is represented by hypertension. Early detection, suitable treatment and hypertension control depend on accurate blood pressure measurement. The most used devices to measure blood pressure are based on the oscillometric method and in the years several research works have been carried out aimed at improving their accuracy. In the paper, the last promising contributes provided by the research dealing with the oscillometric blood pressure waveform analysis are presented to highlight the research trends in the field.
