USER PERCEPTIONS OF ADVANCED TRAVELER INFORMATION SYSTEMS ON THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE

This paper describes the results of an intercept survey of motorists traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike during the Fall 2001. The survey was conducted as part of a comprehensive evaluation of advanced traveler information systems (ATIS) on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The paper presents the overall framework for the evaluation and survey methodology. Also presented are the results of the survey.
