Magnetron Injection Gun for a Short Pulse, 0.67 THz Gyrotron for Remote Detection of Radioactive Materials

In this paper, the design of electron gun for a 0.67 THz gyrotron is presented. The in-house code MIGSYN is used to estimate the initial gun parameters. The electron trajectory tracing 2.5-dimensional (2.5-D) code EGUN is used to optimize the electron gun design. The parametric analysis and misalignment study is also carried out to provide the flexibility in the actual fabrication of the device.
