Design and implementation of fuzzy logic control speed control system for a converter fed DC drive using 8097 micro controller

Fuzzy logic or fuzzy set theory has been given greater emphasis in control applications in recent times. A controlled power converter fed-motor has, in general, a complex and nonlinear model. The model suffers from problems of parameter variation and supply frequency deviation. The fuzzy controller takes care of the nonlinear operating conditions of the converter. Hence an 8097 microcontroller based fuzzy PI controller is designed and implemented for a power converter-fed DC motor. The converter works satisfactorily under supply frequency variations and load disturbances.
