Control of unity power factor boost converter

Owing to the growing concern regarding harmonic pollution in power distribution systems, and the adoption of standards such as IEC 555-2, there is a need for power supplies whose AC line currents are low in harmonic content and have power factor close to unity. Unity power factor circuits are becoming one of the most important requirements for power electronics. In this paper the idea of using a boost rectifier with nonlinear discrete control is used. In this paper the robust nonlinear sliding mode discrete time control in the mains rectangular (ab) coordinate system is discussed. Simulation results are presented.<<ETX>>
