Robust Boundary Element Scheme for Helmholtz Eigenvalue Equation

This paper presents a new and robust boundary element scheme for analyzing the Helmholtz eigenvalue probelm. The method is based on a combination of the multiple reciprocity boundary element method using the fundamental solutions of the Laplace and its related higher order equations, and efficient technique for the eigenvalue determination. The method completely removes domain integrals, complicated integrals of the fundamental solutions and solution of transcendental equation. Some numerical examples for two-dimensional problems demonstrate superior usefulness.
