Bachelor of landscape architecture thesis : proposed Pintar Farm Resort

This proposal development is to design and plan a resort for PINTAR farm program if incorporates ruminant livestock and fodder palm oil plantation into resort environment as a farm resort. Palm oil and livestock production are synonymous with Malaysia since decades ago. In other way, Malaysia keeps trying to instill tourism factors in every their development sectors. As a developing country, landscaped area that is well- planned with a farm-like setting should be integrated together to produce multiple production to achieve sustainable development and increasing Malaysian sosio-economic level. Farm potential and issues of palm oil and ruminant livestock as an image of Malaysian character are potential to achieve multiple growth profit. The proposed farm resort is located at Kampung Lukut, Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia with an area of approximately 186.7 acres and utilizing approximately 54.6 acres as main tourism node while the remaining as farm area. Its development is based on farm exploration activities with emphasis on a variety of package to expose Malaysian farm activities. The symbiosis concept in the design is reflected in the existing farm resources and people community whereby each one is always serving mutually to each other. The activities and farm setting are inter related to achieve an interesting interaction between the livestock and human and by manipulating the natural behavior of cattle, deer, lambs, buffalos and freshwater fish as a famous Malaysian product to the administration building, farm pavilion restaurant, camp site, suite and deluxe unit, poolside recreation club, Halal-hub factory and spa herbs garden treatment. Natural greenery and landscape merged from palm oil and feeding pasture fields creates an authentic green panorama. This PINTAR farm resort is the only place that serves numerous vibrant, knowledgeable, leisure and healthy programs that revolves around the advantages of livestock and palm oil thus supporting Malaysia’s aspiration to diversify Johor’s tourist attraction.
