Agar Gel Studies of Blood Group Specific Substances and Precipitins of Plant Origin

Agar gel diffusion studies show that the precipitin of Dolichos biflorus seeds reacts with part of the A‐substance; the reactive component is common to A‐substance from persons of sub‐groups A1 and A2 and hog gastric mucin. Conventional precipitin studies in test tubes show that there is no qualitative difference between the “Dolichos reactive” characters of A1 and A2 cyst fluids. The differences observed with erythrocytes and salivas are likely to be quantitative.
