RESEARCH ON A NOVEL BOUNDARY CONDUCTION MODE OF SINGLE-STAGE PFC CIRCUIT

The high voltage of the buck capacitor in single-stage Power Factor Corrector is presented. A novel Boundary Conduction Mode (BCM) of PFC circuit is proposed. The principle of the BCM control method is analyzed based on the analysis of the boundary point of the PFC converter and DC-DC converter to control the voltage of the buck capacitor. A common IC is used in the circuit to realize the high power factor, to control the voltage of the capacitor, to decrease the stress of the switch and to increase the stability. The equation of the power factor of the circuit is derived based on the analysis of the distortion of the input current. The circuit performance was verified experimentally.
