Active matrix substrate and its producing process

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an active matrix substrate in which a TFT is protected effectively against static electricity by providing a short circuit member having a convenient structure of high charge dispersiveness and functioning even after a packaging process thereby substantially eliminating a leak current in a low voltage region. SOLUTION: The active matrix substrate comprises a substrate 1, a plurality of pixel electrodes formed on the substrate 1, a plurality of interconnect lines 2 and 6, a plurality of switching elements 20 each connecting at least one of the plurality of pixel electrodes electrically with at least one of the plurality of interconnect lines 2 and 6, and a short circuit member 3 having the characteristics of a varistor. The short circuit member 3 connects at least two adjacent interconnect lines 2 and 6 out of the plurality of interconnect lines 2 and 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
