Analysis on flow and sediment movement in approach channels of tidal river branches

Siltation is a common problem in approach channels of river branches in tidal areas, and it is very complex because of many influencing factors. A one-dimensional unsteady numerical model is developed to simulate the movement of flow and sediment in a regular approach channel and to analyze the influence of some factors on siltation. The results supply a scientific basis for the design and management of projects.
