Fault tolerance of simplified parallel power converters with current sharing function

This paper studies multi-phase synchronization in a simple model of parallel buck converters with winner-take-all switching rule. Applying a simplification to the output load, the dynamics can be described by a piecewise constant equation that is well suited for precise analysis. We then consider the fault tolerance in the case where one of the converters is broken. In this case, the switching rule can recover the multi-phase synchronization automatically. As the main results, we give parameter conditions for stability of the multi-phase synchronization and demonstrate precise ripple characteristics before/after the accident.
