Comparison of Time Transfer Using GPS Carrier Phase and Multichannel Two-Way Data in East Asia

By use of GPS carrier phase (CP) and two-way satellite time and frequency transfer (TWSTFT) measurements, a set of time comparison experiments has been conducted between the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science and other time laboratories in East Asia. The TWSTFT results using a multichannel modem were compared with those of the GPS CP measurements using a geodetic receiver. In this paper, the authors present the time comparison results obtained with those two time-transfer methods, as well as those obtained from the GPS P3 data analysis. From the results, it was observed that the time comparison performances obtained from the GPS CP were comparable to that of the TWSTFT, and it appeared that the associated Allan deviations were slightly different depending on the type of atomic clock (hydrogen maser and cesium) used in the comparison
