A Fuzzy ANP-Based GRA Approach to Evaluate ERP Packages

OneofthemajorproblemsthatmostcompaniesfacewithduringtheimplementationofanERP systemistodeterminethebestsatisfyingERPsoftwarebasedontheirneedsandexpectations. BecauseanimproperlyselectedERPsoftwaremightleadtotimelossandincreasedcosts,andin thelongrun,alossofmarketshare.Therefore,theERPevaluationprocessforcompaniesbecomes toavitalpoint.Ontheotherhand,evaluatingERPsoftwarealternativesunderasetofcriteria leadsustoamultiple-criteriadecisionmaking(MCDM)problem,andneedstouseproperMCDM methods.Inthecurrentliterature,anumberoftheMCDMmethodshavebeenproposedtosolve thesekindsofproblems,bothofwhicharetheanalyticnetworkprocess(ANP)ofSaaty,andgrey relationalanalysis(GRA)whichhasbeenwidelyusedinsolvingMCDMselectionproblemsin variousfields.Moreover,inthisarticle,theauthorsusedthefuzzyextensionoftheANPmethod toreflecttheuncertaintyandambiguityofdecisionmaker(s)intoprobleminordertoreachmore reliable solution. As the fuzzy ANP method was used to calculate the priority weights of the evaluationcriteria,theGRAmethodwithfuzzyinterval-valueswasemployedtorankasetofthe possibleERPsoftwarealternatives.Theproposedapproachwasalsovalidatedinacasestudyto showitsapplicabilitytopotentialreadersandpractitioners.
