쉐이더 모델 3.0 을 지원하는 3차원 그래픽스 통합 쉐이더의 연산기 구조

This paper presents an architecture of operating unit for a 3D graphics Unified shader supporting Shader model 3.0. It targeted to accelerate 3D graphics in portable device environments. In order to handle an operation of shader supporting shader model 3.0, we designed a floating point unit(FPU) and a branch unit. FPU performs operations such as primitive, setting, compare, special function. Branch unit perform an operation is related with flow control. It generates control signals as a result of prediction and comparison. FPU is implemented with 0.25um CMOS technology and it takes about 60K gate count. In the same timing of 1, 2 stage of operating unit, an operation for branch is performed.
