Two different types of inverted-F antennas which can be integrated into a micro-SD (μSD) card are presented. The antennas operate in the new band from 2.4835 to 2.5 GHz dedicated to medical applications. The volume available for the antenna in the μSD card is only 11 × 3 × 1 mm3. Performance in terms of bandwidth, the radiation efficiency and the gain of the two structures is compared and discussed. The μSD card is intended to fit multiple devices with different ground plane dimensions. As an example, the influence of the μSD card position on a standard printed circuit board of 100 × 40 mm² is also studied.
