This chapter describes the 3D maypole braiding principle with a focus on 3D-rotary braiding as operated at the Institut fur Textiltechnik (ITA) of RWTH Aachen University. The unique characteristics of the machine equipment, process and product design for this machinery are presented. The 3D-rotary braiding based on a joint development of August Herzog Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG and ITA is described in detail and the production possibilities are presented by means of two composite application parts. The composite parts are a tubular grid structure and a hat-shaped stiffener profile. The chapter will conclude with future trends and a conclusion.
