Conducted emission modelling of autotransformer rectifier units used in aircraft

This paper describes the high frequency model of an 18-pulse autotransformer rectifier unit (ATRU) in a typical aircraft application. The behavioural model of the ATRU at the normal operational frequency was modified for the analysis at the higher frequency range, which is of interest for the conducted emission study. Models of passive components were modified by adding parasitic/stray resistances, inductances and capacitances in order to emulate the behaviour at the higher frequency range. The model of the ATRU at high frequencies was simulated and conducted emissions were predicted using the model.
