Study on voltage stability and simulation on outage of wind power base with DFIGs due to grid fault

Large scale wind turbines tripping frequently occurred after voltage dip recently. This paper investigates modelling and the physical processes of low voltage ride through of DFIG wind turbine, studies the interaction of voltage stability of the large scale DFIG based wind farms and power grid after the voltage dip. The cascade fault of large scale wind farm with different topology and control strategy are investigated and simulated. The strategies of improving voltage stability of wind farms are proposed.
