Cooperativeness Computation And Its Application To Data-Retrieval

When a question is posed, its interpretation can he modeled in terms of its speaker's intention, background, and expectation, factors which accompany the question. In this context, if the question's hearer attempts to identify and consider a set of multiple possible interpretations, we deem his behavior to be cooperative. We show how this observation can be applied towards cooperative database retrieval.
