English Instruction Based on Network Information Technology In Higher Vocational Colleges

This article firstly analyzes the current situation in English instruction based on information technology in higher vocational colleges.Then it points out four primary problems existing currently,that is,the application of IT and multimedia instead of the instructional design has been overemphasized;the features of language instruction are overlooked as teachers rely too much on using multimedia courseware;teachers hold a one-sided view on constructivism learning environment as they have poor understanding of modern learning theories and no practical experience;they have blind faith in applying modern educational technology in English teaching.Accordingly,the article proposes countermeasures and suggestions from the following four respects: updating teaching concepts,establishing new teaching mode,exploring approaches of instructional design based on information technology and strengthening the research on information-technology-based teaching and learning.
