Image forming apparatus having function of payment by credit card

An image forming device capable of processing payment by using a credit card is provided to process the payment by using the credit card without any terminal by including a scanning unit and a communication unit. An image processor(140) extracts a credit card number and expiration data period from image data generated by scanning a credit card with a scanning unit(130), and recognizing the credit card number and the expiration data from a scanning image with an OCR(Optical Character Recognition) unit(141). A controller(180) transmits the credit card number and the expiration data to an authentication server(200), and enables a communicator to request a payment approval for a predetermined amount to the authentication server when authentication confirmation for the credit card is received. The controller enables a display unit(120) to display a message requesting a public certificate to a credit card user and enables an input unit(110) to receive storage information of the public certificate when a payment amount is bigger than a reference amount.
