A Survey of Factors Influencing Patients ‘Choice of Anaesthesia for Caesarean Section

In this study, we were able to show that there was little difference between the way decisions are made in a private hospital setting, a public hospital setting when women were managed by a single obstetrician (private patients), and when hospital cfassified patients were managed in a team setting. These phenomena in our area are contrary to the popular belief (3,5,6) that patients in private hospitals are managed differently and are more likely to undergo Caesarean section.
