A high resolution method for equipment group mapping using UWB signals

The growth of Internet of Thing (IoT) has generated an increasing number of smart devices that are interacting with each other and mostly confined in local groups. In this paper we provide a cooperative high accurate mapping for these devices without any help of the network infrastructure. For this, we suppose that our devices are able to directly communicate using UltraWideBand (UWB) links. We propose an algorithm that needs as input a limited number of the distances between pairs of devices provided by Time of Arrival (ToA). Four different channel models are studied in this paper: Line of Sight (LOS) and Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) for indoors and outdoors environments. The results show significant improvement compared to already existing methods.
