A new shape descriptor based on centroid–radii model and wavelet transform

Abstract A new shape descriptor is presented in this paper, which is based on the centroid–radii model and the Haar wavelet transform. With this descriptor, we can achieve more accurate shape feature and implement more efficient retrieval under multi-resolution. In addition, our method is robust to translation, scaling and rotation. The experimental results show the competitiveness of this descriptor.
