In this paper, we restore the underwater scattering-degraded images based on the measured MTF using the parametric Wiener filter after compressing the noise of the images by Wavelet transformation according to the noise characteristic of underwater image system. We first present the MTF curves measured from various scattering water path lengths. The blurred image of a resolution target corresponding to the same system is captured and restored by the measured MTF using the parametric Wiener filter because parametric Wiener filter is quite effective for the uncertain-disturbance underwater image. Because the captured image always goes with noise that would generally result in ill-posed problems we try to remove the noise using chosen scale functions and wavelet functions before restoring the blurred image.
