To this end, education of the public generally, of the medical profession, and of community leaders, is all part of the doctor's task. Co-operation between voluntary agencies and governmental services at all levels has often proved ofcrucial value in the past and doubtless will continue to do so in the future. Voluntary bodies can complement and supplement the officialprogramme and provide dedicated expertise in such fields as reconstructive surgery, social rehabilitation, and vocational therapy, as well as in the training of medical auxiliaries, laboratory technicians and reconstructive surgeons.
