Research for the thrust fluctuation reduction of PMLSM based on trapezoidal permanent magnet

In order to restrain the thrust fluctuation of permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM), trapezoidal shaped permanent magnet (TSPM) has been proposed in this paper. Firstly, according to equivalent current method, the flux density analytical equation can be established with the side slope of TSPM as a variable, and the structural parameters of TSPM are obtained in combination with the analytical calculation and motor structure. Then the accuracy of analytical method is verified by finite element method. The analytical calculation agrees well with the finite element results. Finally, the experimental results indicate that the thrust fluctuation can be restrained effectively by the proposed method.
