Apparatus and method for charging amount of battery

A charge amount warning apparatus and a charge amount warning method are disclosed. The charge amount warning apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a storage part which stores a display unit indicating a remaining charge amount of a battery and a warning figure according to the display unit; a measurement part which measures an electrical characteristic value of the battery; a charge amount calculation part which calculates the remaining charge amount from the measured electrical characteristic value of the battery; a display unit conversion part which converts the calculated remaining charge amount into the display unit according to power consumed per the display unit by a load electrically connected to the battery; and a determination part which outputs a warning signal when the converted remaining charge amount is equal to or greater than the warning figure. According to the present invention, it is possible to give warning of charging before the battery is fully discharged. At this time, it is possible to set a warning timing such that the warning is given in a unit form desired by the user and at a timing desired by the user. Therefore, it is possible to further increase operation or management predictability when the user uses the apparatus including the battery.
