A Dynamic Traffic Management Model with Responsive Signal Control and Traffic Information

Abstract Traffic management models are useful of evaluating the various strategies of Intelligent Transportation Systems to reduce the travel time in urban network. The combined dynamic traffic assignment model with responsive signal control and variable message sign is developed in the paper and solution algorithm is also develped. The model can be formulated as variational inequality. An Example of a contrived network is used to assess impacts of responsive signal control and variable message signs at operational levels.
