A study of electronic ballast for electrodeless fluorescent lamps with dimming capabilities

The electrodeless fluorescent lamp has the features of extremely long life and rapid power switching response without the delay associated with electrode warm-up and cooling since they do not have electrodes. The authors aimed at the feature of the quick response, and then adopted intermittent operation, which means that ON/OFF of the lamp is repeated rapidly, in order to dim the lamp operated at 13.56 MHz. The dimming ballast was developed and was able to dim the lamp by 5% smoothly.
