The youngest patient of lupus vulgaris; A cutaneous tuberculosis case report

Tuberculosis,�whichmayinvolvemostorgans,�isstillamajorhealthproblemindeveloping� countries.�Despiteahighandincreasingfrequencyoftuberculosis,�cutaneoustuberculosis�(CT)� isanuncommonform. CTmaydevelopduetoMycobacteriumtuberculosis,�Mycobacterium� bovis,�andtheBacilleCalmette-Guerin�(BCG).�CTmayhavevariousclinicalforms.�Themost� frequentformofCTislupusvulgaris�(LV).�LVoriginatesfrominactivetuberculosisfocusinthe� bodyandspreadsbyhematogenousorlymphaticwayandbydirectorexogenousinoculation.� AdiagnosisofLVwasmadebasedonclinicalandhistopathologicalexamination.�Thelesions� regressedaftertreatmentwith�3�antituberculousdrugs.�CTmustbeconsideredincaseswith� chronicskinlesionsbecausetuberculosisprevalenceishighinourcountry.�Earlydiagnosisand� treatmentofpatientswithCTisextremelyimportantinordertopreventcomplications.�We� report,�tothebestofourknowledge,�theyoungestCTaffectingcase.
